After examining some of Robert Rauschenberg’s combines, students created their own assemblages based on one of the four seasons. Students were able to connect their work to their own personal and cultural contexts by choosing found objects, fabrics, magazine images, shapes, and paint colors that they personally associate with their season, drawing from memories, holidays, and other sources of inspiration.
