Saturday Art School Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Ages 9-11:

Sculpture Garden Print Diptychs (interrupted by COVID)

Students would have constructed and printed large scale collagraphs of a chosen sculpture in Pratt’s sculpture garden, in its natural unaltered context and an altered context. This prompt allowed the class to learn that artists can create works of art which respond to existing artworks or relate to their community and that artworks have a relationship to the contexts in which they displayed. Before the class was cancelled, students had explored creating texture and printing with foam collagraph plates as well as begun their final sketches.
