After visiting the Rubin Museum, students created their own powerful protector characters based on themes of peaceful/defensive vs. aggressive/offensive protecting figures they saw and discussed with their tour guide. Below are examples of students' paintings in progress, as they practiced building up the figure by starting with a full-body silhouette.
